Introduction: Historical context of CLEFA and the significance of its 28th edition
Synopsis
With twenty-eight editions, CLEFA is part of the permanent action plan of the Union of Schools and Faculties of Architecture of Latin America (UDEFAL), appearing in its statutes as its main academic component, reflecting the collective commitment of the region's schools and faculties of architecture. It also aims to strengthen the quality of architectural education and project it onto the international stage without losing sight of Latin American identity. It is guided by two essential purposes: 1) to reflect on the professional practice of architects in Latin America in relation to social, economic, and technological dynamics, and 2) to promote inter-institutional and international collaboration by strengthening academic networks, joint projects, and student and professional mobility programs.
